The currency of Peru is the Nuevo Sol ( PEN ). Bills are 10, 20, 50 , 100, 200 ( the 200 are rare ) The coins are called centimos (10 céntimos , 20 céntimos , 50 céntimos). Also, there are 1 nuevo sol , 2 nuevo soles y 5 nuevos soles. There is a currency of 0.05 centimos which is underused.
- Always carry and ask for coins and small bills . Local and small businesses rarely have change for 100 bills and 200 soles.

- In malls, hotels and restaurants at the big towns, credit card is accepted with a commission of 7% more.
